Mission Statement

‘Empowering Young People to achieve their potential’

Powerhouse is a registered charity based in Moss side Manchester and has been in existence since the year 2000.  We are a Multi Service Youth Hub for central Manchester and home to a range of services for Young People which include; Mental health, Careers advice and guidance, specialist programmes for young people 16-19 who are NEET. We have a Library for Young People, Sports sessions, Arts & Crafts, Youth Club, Music and Drama sessions.

We have meeting/training rooms, a sports hall, Dance studio, Music studio. We provide a space for young people to feel comfortable with a wide range of services under one roof.

We work with a range of partners to ensure we have something for everyone!

Charitable Objectives

The vision of the Powerhouse “is to be a place for young people to find pathways to jobs, training and opportunities to create healthy, dynamic and fulfilling lifestyles”.

 

The charitable objectives for which the Company was established are as follows:

 

I. The empowerment of young people to develop emotionally, mentally and spiritually so that they can contribute as active citizens in their community and wider world.

 

II. The provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life of young people in the interests of social welfare.

 

III. The advancement of education and learning in particular but not exclusively through the provision of advice, information, training and support.

 

IV. The combating of the effects of and distress caused by poverty and social exclusion on young people in particular but not exclusively through the provision of advice, information and support of matters relating to both their health, personal and social education, well-being and welfare and also to enable them to enter into employment or establish new businesses.

For such other charitable purposes as the Trustees in their absolute discretion think fit.
